The Knoll is a 12 room house of Tudor design built in 1910. It is located in the village of Florence, a suburb of Northampton, and is on the city bus line. It is situated on 17 acres of farm land and forest in a residential neighborhood. It is in close proximity to the five colleges, Smith, Amherst, UMASS, Hampshire, and Mt. Holyoke. The house is set well back from Route 9 with an acre of lawn in the front which guarantees a quiet night sleep. There is a semi-circlular driveway which leads to the front door. There is easy access to the city's biking, running, and walking trail which can take you from Florence all the way to Amherst.
The Knoll as been operated as a B&B since 1984, over 29 years. Guests have been welcomed from every continent except Antarctica. There are four rooms available. Thre is one room with twin beeds, one with a double bed, and two with queen beds. There are two shared bathrooms, one with a large cast iron soaking tub and the second with a walk-in shower. The rate for each room is $95.00 per night tax included. Check in anytime after 2:00PM and check out is at 10:00AM. During the summer months of June, July, and August we have a two night minimum on weekends.
